The center of languages and Certifications

As part of the call for projects QAP 2012, the High Institute of Human Sciences of Jendouba  created a "Centre for Languages ​​and Certifications (CLC)."

This project has three broad objectives :

1 / The strengthening of language teaching which is a problematic in all academic trainings. This remedial structure is intended for :

- Students whose language level is not sufficient to succeed at school.  Language brush-up programs to upgrade their levels are offered to them after a level test.

- Teachers who would benefit from development programs.

- Graduates who need to improve their communication skills, especially in English and French, in order to have better opportunities in the job market.

 

2 ° / The adaptation of language teaching to the new guidelines and requirements of the LMD system. It has three specific objectives :

- The adaptation of methods and educational content to the world of professional requirements so as to improve employability

- The training of teachers to deal with new information and communication technologies. (ICTs)

- The center provides educational spaces, human and material resources as well as modern equipments (audiovisuals and multimedia) that allow students and  teachers to upgrade or improve their levels.

 

3 / The development of educational research  rely on two specific objectives which are :

- The development of teaching tools (manuals and databases)

- The development of educational engineering: design and evaluation of curricula and teaching methods, design and evaluation of initial training programs for teachers...

This project focuses on two aspects; teaching and research inextricably linked, as they include language certification (French and English)

The Center of Languages and Certifications (CLC) was inaugurated on June 17th 2014. It is the first center to be created in an academic institution.  It provides:

- Introductory courses, catch-up courses, remedial courses or specialization in French, English and German (other languages ​​will be proposed  later)

- For students, staff of the University and external audiences (children from 7-8 years, schoolchildren, students, adults, company staff).

These courses are provided:

- By qualified and experienced teachers, using the latest methods of learning.  Adapted to the levels of the European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(EFRL), they are evaluated by certifications.

- Depending on the skill level and not on age or grade level; a level test is offered prior to the training.
